A federal program to provide payments to employers who hire the disabled goes into effect in Nevada Friday, and Gov. Kenny Guinn said 46,000 residents will be able to participate.
Called the "Ticket to Work" program, Guinn said it will generate an average of $15,000 to employers for each successful hire.
Guinn said Nevada businesses are encouraged to sign up to become eligible for the reward funds.
Among those already taking advantage of the program are the state Division of Mental Health and Station Casinos.
