Action filed against land auction

A local environmental activist has filed a motion for an injunction in U.S. District Court in the hopes of stopping a Bureau of Land Management auction set for Friday.
Bob Hall, president of the Nevada Environmental Coalition, filed the request Tuesday. Hall has been a longtime critic of the BLM's selling of public lands, saying that the federal agency has not determined the effects that developing the land will have on Las Vegas air quality.
The auction, set for Friday, would sell off 1,140 acres, including three parcels totaling 990 acres in southwest Las Vegas.
In June, U.S. District Judge Lloyd George dismissed a similar request for an injunction by Hall to stop a land auction.
