PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Sheriff's and Coast Guard officials are investigating why passengers aboard a cruise ship were not allowed to leave the vessel when it returned to port after a passenger became ill.
Several passengers aboard a Sterling Casino Lines ship wanted to leave when the boat returned to port about midway through a scheduled six-hour voyage Saturday night, but cruise employees refused to let them exit, said Ed Rome, one of the passengers.
Phone calls placed to Sterling Casino officials and the Coast Guard were not returned Sunday.
