Olympian bringing jet charters to Vegas

Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 | 11 a.m.

A partnership including former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner has formed Gold Medal Air, a charter air carrier that will operate flights to Las Vegas and California cities on a regular schedule.

In Business Las Vegas, a sister newspaper to the Las Vegas Sun, reported in its Nov. 8 edition that flights will begin Dec. 15 and the first routes will link Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Gold Medal intends to fly a triangular pattern between Los Angeles, Oakland, Calif., and Las Vegas.

The Westlake Village, Calif., company will operate 19 passenger, twin-engine Embraer Legacy jet aircraft. The service is aimed at travelers willing to pay more in order to avoid airport delays and the long drive between Las Vegas and the California coast.
