Letter: Campaigns’ winners, losers
Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 | 9:29 a.m.
Congratulations to gubernatorial candidate Joe Neal for his profile in courage by aiming for the helm of the ship of state while being held below deck with lack of support by his own party.
Lieutenant governor candidate Erin Kenny couldn't cut the mustard in her attempt to get a right-hand seat at the captain's table.
Congressional candidate Lynette Boggs McDonald gave a fine performance during rehearsal for a role in the House on the hill. I hope she'll be back in a couple of years for curtain calls.
Clark County Commissioner Myrna Williams' re-election was a piece of cake. Her victory was assured by a constituency of old-timers who are not persuaded by slick syllables on the boob tube.
I was impressed by Assemblywoman Chris Giunchigliani. She ran without opposition. This did not stop her from walking every inch of District 9 to assure everyone would know how to spell her name. She'll be around a long time.
Condolences to Sen. Harry Reid. He wasn't even in the race, but because of the national outcome of the elections, his sphere of influence will be limited because of a new trend in politics. It's like a throw of the dice. You win some, you lose some.
