Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) creel census clerks at Lake Mead report that fishing pressure increased this past week.

Shore anglers are finding success throughout the lower basin. Anglers fishing with anchovies in the area of Vegas Bay are landing stripers 14-16 inches in length.

Boaters using anchovies are also having success for stripers that average 16 inches, in water about 65 feet in depth.

Shore anglers fishing Hemenway Harbor report good success for stripers and a few catfish that average 16 inches. Anchovies have been the most successful bait.

The handicap dock has been moved to a new location in Horsepower Cove.

Rainbow trout success rate continues to be slow following the weekly NDOW trout plant.

Anglers fishing Cottonwood Cove are still finding success for stripers that average 14 inches.

Anglers fishing with anchovies in the evenings are finding the best success.

Cold Springs Reservoir is ice-free. Anglers using PowerBait are landing trout that measure 15-16 inches.

Water temperatures on both reservoirs is 44 degrees. Daytime temperatures are in the upper 50s, while nighttime temperatures average 8 degrees.
