Michael Azad
Michael Azad, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Tehran, Iran. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired electrical engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Sedigheh Moazzami Azad of Tehran; two sons, Mehran Kamaliazad of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Mike Azad of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Mahvash Ghassemi of Los Angeles; one sister, Darakh Shandeh Azad; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Freda Brown
Freda Brown, 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 5, 1954, in Fort Polk, La. A resident for 12 years, she was a bartender.
She is survived by one daughter, Bobbie Archut of Oak Park, Ill.; her mother and stepfather, Eva Nell and George Ragsdale, and her father and stepmother, Louie and Helen Ann Brown, all of Bearden, Ark.; two sisters, Brenda Salerno of Las Vegas and Loretta Hyde of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Brown and Louie Brown Jr., both of Dallas; and her companion, Jeff Cheek of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

George M. Chamberlin Sr.
George M. Chamberlin Sr., 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born July 27, 1919, in Philadelphia. A resident for 48 years, he was employed in the gaming industry.
He is survived by one daughter, Jane McNesby of Calloway, N.J.; one son, George M. Chamberlin III of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Evelyn A. Czyz
Evelyn A. Czyz, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Mount Clemmons, Mich. A resident for six years, she was a retired country club waitress and a member of the Elks in San Jacinto, Calif.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Regenhard of Las Vegas and Patricia Baas Thompson of Victorville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Jack Rickey Demeere
Jack Rickey Demeere, 50, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. He was born June 28, 1952, in Detroit. A resident for seven years, he was a hotel engineer and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his fiancee, Iris Floodman; three sons, Justin N. Demeere of Pittsburgh, Remi J. Demeere of London, Tenn., and Jonathon R. Demeere of Michigan; two daughters, Tina Demeere and Jennifer Demeere; one brother, Joe Demeere of Michigan; two sisters, Renee Smith of Michigan and Sandra of Pennsylvania; and one grandchild.
Visitation was scheduled 1-5 p.m. today with a 3 p.m. service in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Mariah Dexter
Mariah Dexter, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Delhi, La. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired hotel guest-room attendant.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Allen Fletcher and Raquel Dexter, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Wesley Moore Jr. of San Diego and Michael Dexter Sr. of Las Vegas; three sisters, Ellen Waffer of Calhoun, La., and Thelma Ford and Sara Ford, both of Seattle; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Tommy Donoho
Tommy Donoho, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Louisville, Ky. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired elephant trainer and retired stagehand with Pollack Brothers and Gatti Productions and a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 720.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; three sons, George Donoho and John Donoho, both of Las Vegas, and Mike Donoho of Sarasota, Fla.; one stepson, Bart Campbell of Orangeville, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Dianne Campbell of Los Angeles; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday in the Cancun Room at the Fiesta Henderson. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Herman Charles Hanshew
Herman Charles Hanshew, 66, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Virginia. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; six daughters, Debra Patrick, Katrina Turner, Bobbi Jo LeCates and Valerie Winterton, all of Las Vegas, and Cheryl Davis and Christina Hanshew, both of Colorado; four sons, Kenneth, Kevin, Harold and Keith, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Nellie Hanshew of Virginia; and one sister, Margaret Moseley of Georgia.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in the LDS Stake Center on Tonopah Avenue. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Dexter Lance Ho
Dexter Lance Ho, 39, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 6, 1963, in Honolulu. A resident for nine years, he was a retired Army specialist and Navy veteran, a member of the Salvation Army and past president of the Las Vegas Opticians Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Ann; one daughter, Kourtney Ho of Louisiana; his father, Ernest Kwock Ken Ho of Honolulu; three sisters, Sonia Sato of Kailua, Hawaii, Cindy Albino of Lakewood, Calif., and Carlene Paulo of Honolulu; three brothers, Edward Paulo Jr. of Honolulu, Edward Paulo and Nathan Ho, both of Riverside, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Albert Hopkins
Albert Hopkins, 53, of Las Vegas died Oct. 25 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 19, 1949, in Georgia. A resident for 24 years, he was president of a financial institution.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Hillary Beth Hopkins and Niccole Hahn, both of Las Vegas; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at Green Valley Baptist Church, 270 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Manuel G. Martinez Jr.
Manuel G. Martinez Jr., 49, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 11, 1953, in Frankfurt, Germany. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired instructor in gaming equipment repair.
He is survived by one daughter, Krista Martinez, and his mother, Lydia Martinez, both of Henderson; and two sisters, Vikki Wirth of Henderson and Cindy Guzzetta of Sacramento.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Thelma D. Mittenberger
Thelma D. Mittenberger, 97, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born June 15, 1905, in Michigan. A resident for two years, she was a bookkeeper.
She is survived by one son, Richard Ian Wilson, and one daughter, Natalie Sproull, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Lorraine Wolcott; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Velia Concetta Morelli
Velia Concetta Morelli, 74, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died Saturday in an Idaho medical center. She was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Stowe, Pa. A former Las Vegas resident for 26 years, she was a retired secretary.
She is survived by one son, David Morelli of Post Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Dan Tabella and Larry Tabella, both of Coeur d'Alene; and one grandchild.

George W. Ragland, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 23, 1913, in San Rafael, Calif. A resident for 41 years, he was a private pilot, a World War II Navy and Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the York Rite Masons Chapter 63, OX5 Aviation Pioneers, Daylite 44 Masonic Lodge, Las Vegas Scottish Rite, Zelzah Shrine Temple, Royal Order of Jesters Court 181 and the Quiet Birdman Pilots Association.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; one stepson, Robert McConnell of Las Vegas; one sister, Juliet Benedict of Idaho; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Stephen W. Rogers, 66, of Boulder City died Oct. 27 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Ohio. A resident for 14 years, he was a hotel security officer and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Connie Moody of Boulder City; and one grandchild.

Luis C. Rosario, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 14, 1936, in Puerto Rico. A resident for three years, he was a retired quality control inspector.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; two sons, Eddie Rosario of Fairfax, Va., and Angelo Rosario of Palmetto, Fla; three daughters, Olga Heath and Maria Sweeney, both of Las Vegas, and Zoraida Cozier of San Diego; six brothers, Mike Rosario and Bob Rosario, both of Dunkirk, N.Y., Artemio Rosario, Ray Rosario, Felix Rosario and Pancho Rosario, all of Puerto Rico; six sisters, Rosa Santiago of San Diego, Lucy Rosario, Aida Lopez, Laura Rosario, Fransica Santos and Romona Rosario, all of Puerto Rico; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roy K. Schmahl, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1944, in New York. A resident for 12 years, he was a truck driver for a freight company and an Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Roy K. Schmahl Jr. of the Bronx, N.Y., and Jaime Schmahl of Las Vegas; one daughter, Tracy Schmahl of Las Vegas; one brother, Tommy Schmahl, and one sister, Reggie Schmahl, both of New York.

Lou Tavano, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired entrepreneur in the importing business.
He is survived by his wife, Nanette; two sons, Louis Tavano and Richard Tavano, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Suzanne Tavano of Las Vegas and Charisse Tavano of New York City; one brother, Robert Tavano of Niagara Falls; and eight grandchildren.

Sharon E. Walker, 62, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born April 14, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, John; one son, West Walker of Henderson; two daughters, Shelly Johnson and Darcy Fitch, both of Henderson; one brother, the Rev. Bill Kenny of Las Vegas; and one sister, Kathleen Kenny of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Donald L. Warner, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Detroit. A resident for 41 years, he was a dealer, a Vietnam War Navy veteran and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by two sisters, Peggy Shaft of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Joan Parkkila of Milford, Mich.
