Revenue, cash flow improve for LV operator

Herbst Gaming Inc. of Las Vegas, an operator of casinos and a slot route, Tuesday reported a profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30 of $100,000 vs. a loss of $12.7 million in the year-ago quarter. The 2001 loss was caused by a debt restructuring charge of $13 million.
Revenue for the 2002 quarter was $61.4 million, up 6.8 percent from the year-ago period. Cash flow or EBITDA -- earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization -- was $8.7 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up 1.1 percent from the year-ago quarter.
