Workshops planned on energy issues
The fourth workshop in a series of five sponsored by Clark County and the Energy Department's Rebuild America program will be 8 p.m. Friday in the County Government Center Chambers, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
The workshops are aimed at educating government and the public on energy management practices.
The series is free and open to the public and should be of particular interest to facility and operations staff, architectural/engineering and construction and design staff.
The final workshop will be Dec. 13. Individuals who are interested in attending can RSVP by calling 455-5528 or by e-mail (adminservinfo@co.clark.nv.us).
Schools to host Bands of America
The Clark County School District is teaming up with Bands of America to present the annual Halftime Show Review as part of BOA's Regional Championship in Las Vegas.
The bands will perform at 3 p.m. Friday at Sierra Vista High School, 8100 W. Robindale Road. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for children.
Saturday's Bands of America Regional Championship preliminaries will be at 7:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Admission to the preliminary event is $10 and tickets to the finals are $12; or a pass to both is $16. Call 799-2853.
Fire station No. 9,
4747 N. Rainbow Blvd., will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. At the station will be fire equipment, personnel, fire safety information and the fire safety house, a mobile classroom that teaches children how to escape a burning building. Call 229-5911.
