PARIS -- Vivendi Universal SA said it's under criminal investigation in the United States, a week after French prosecutors opened a probe into the accounts of the world's second-largest media company.
Paris-based Vivendi will cooperate with the investigation by the U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of New York, said spokesman Antoine Lefort. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is also conducting an informal inquiry, Vivendi said.
