Adoption fair planned Saturday

The county Family Court and Services Center is holding an adoption fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the County Government Center, 500 Grand Central Parkway.

The annual event is designed to encourage adults to adopt children in the foster care system.

Red Rock Canyon offers Ancient Art

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes, walks and programs free of charge. To make required reservations or for more information on the following or upcoming programs, call 363-1922:

Ancient Art I: On Sunday enjoy an easy one-mile hike with Ranger Melissa to Christmas Tree Pass.

Desert Babies: A program offered Wednesday for 3-4-year olds to enjoy stories, activities, crafts and snack.

Moenkopi Morning: An easy two-mile hike offered Wednesday. Enjoy the great views and peaceful breeze.

Youths featured at horse show

Las Vegas Arabian Horse Association will hold its ninth annual youth classic and adult amateur show today through Sunday at Horseman's Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Road.

The LVAHA horse show is a qualifying show for Pacific Slopes and Region VII championships, as well as Youth, Canadian, U.S. National Championships, and National Showhorse Nationals.

The show is open to all registered Arabians, half-Arabians, and Anglo-Arabians and national showhorses. The Youth Classic accepts entrants up to 17 years of age. For more information, call Beverly Blaskey at 655-3475.
