Everything in a person's daily life begins with a single thought.
With that idea, self-help facilitator Beatrice Marion will lead a workshop Saturday at West Las Vegas Arts Center to help people tap into a valuable resource: their imaginations.
Using music, meditative and creative exercises, the workshop aims to help participants bring serenity and prosperity to their lives, she said.
"Everything around us first began as a seed in somebody's imagination ... the design of a chair, concept of a movie, solution to a problem," she said.
"The focus of the seminar is going to be how to understand the power and importance of imagination on a personal and global level."
Marion moved to Las Vegas from San Diego five months ago and teaches a variety of meditation classes that focus on creativity, health, stress and spirituality. She has been teaching meditation for 10 years.
Saturday's workshop is for participants age 17 and older, though Marion's goals include reaching out to children in the community.
"This is definitely something we need for our kids," Marion said. "Right now kids are not going inside (themselves) in search of their own innate abilities.
"Our key to our future lies in our imagination."
