LV couple indicted in fraud case

A Las Vegas couple has been indicted on allegations that they defrauded Medicare in a scheme involving medical equipment.

Richard Larry Ridgeley and Deborah Ridgeley are named in the indictment that charges health care theft and money laundering.

According to the indictment, the couple misrepresented to Medicare that medical supplies such as shoes, hospital beds, air mattresses and back braces were medically needed by beneficiaries. It is further alleged that the defendants fraudulently billed Medicare for products that were not necessary for patients.

More than $25,000 in illegal proceeds was allegedly paid to the Ridgeleys.
