Elizabeth 'Bibby' Bandy

Elizabeth "Bibby" Bandy, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Branchville, Texas. A resident for 51 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Mesquite Club, Salvation Army and St. Jude's Ranch for Children.

She is survived by one son, Jim Bandy Jr. of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

John Stephen Banschback

John Stephen Banschback, 39, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 4, 1963, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, he was a chef at the MGM Grand since it opened in 1994 and attended culinary school in Portland, Ore.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Crystal Banschback of Henderson; one son, Cody Banschback, his parents, John and Diane Banschback, two brothers, Craig Banschback and Curt Banschback, and one sister, Erika Banschback, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Martha Arnetta Barcelona

Martha Arnetta Barcelona, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 27, 1914, in Moundsville, W.Va. A resident for several years, she was an employee at a toy company for 27 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Anne Pyles of Moundsville and Ruey Zeigler of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Stanley Leo Beans, 55, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill. A resident for 23 years, he was a supermarket cleaning supervisor and a member of the Boulder City Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon K.; two daughters, Karen Beans of Florida and Kim Skibinski of Henderson; two sons, Gary Beans of Millington, Tenn., and Michael Beans of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one brother, William Kramer of Belleville, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin; two sons, Keith Blankenship and Edwin Brent Jr.; two daughters, Lou Ann Quick and Jaime Saulsberry; one sister, Charlotte Brink; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Margaret Capko, 88, of Las Vegas died May 22 in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 26, 1913, in Hollywood, Fla. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Capko and Kenneth A. Capko; one daughter, Linda M. Zeitler; one brother, Stephen Yurko; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Doris M. Edwards, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born May 17, 1918, in Hillsboro, Ill. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sisters, Jean B. Mielbeck of Danville, Calif., and Shirley Altschuller of Las Vegas; and one brother, Robert Anderson of Van Nuys, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Ramune; five daughters, Gabrielle Ford, Donata Ford and Tracy Ford, all of Las Vegas, Kelly Ford of Rochester, N.H., and Heather Ford of Massachusetts; two sons, Mark Ford of Las Vegas and Michael Ford of Kingston, R.I.; two brothers, Richard P. Ruth Annette Franklin, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born July 17, 1927, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. A resident for four years, she was a retired real estate salesman.

She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Levin of Las Vegas; one son, Reginald Franklin of Los Angeles; three sisters, Yvonne Jones of Arizona and Nora McClester and Jean Marshall, both of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jose A. Gamboa, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1935, in Mexico. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired hotel porter and a member of the Culinary Union for 39 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Cracchiola of Las Vegas and Velma Gross of Tucson; two sons, Jose Gamboa Jr. of Phoenix and Abel Gamboa of Las Vegas; four sisters, Frances Broadhead and Gila Higgins, both of San Diego, Petra Barboza of Norwalk, Calif., and Andrea Riley of Houston; one brother, Miguel Gamboa of San Diego; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Thomas G. Guthrie, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 21, 1930, in Ravenna, Ohio. A resident for seven years, he was a national sales manager for a winery and a retired Air Force major.

He is survived by his wife, Merriann; one daughter, Julia Guthrie of Las Vegas; one son, Thomas Guthrie II; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive.

August Heidt

August Heidt, 74, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. A machinist, he was born Dec. 21, 1927, in North Dakota.

He is survived by one son, Timothy Heidt.

Leon Henderson Jr., 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1939, in Oak Grove, La. A resident for nine years, he was a maintenance supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; five daughters, Virginia Cook of Las Vegas, Felicia Long of Los Angeles, Michelle Henderson and Leslie Henderson, both of California, and Roshon Henderson of Moreno Valley, Calif.; four sisters, Wilma, Marcia Davis, Joanne and Annette, six brothers, Marlin Henderson, Gibson Henderson, Clyde Henderson, James Henderson, Jo Nathan Henderson and Arlan Henderson, all of Washington state; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Aletha M. Johnson, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Champlain, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, she was a hospital registered nurse, an Army veteran and a member of the Retired Nurses Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Gail Halverson of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He is survived by four daughters, Terri Lindemann, Toni Lambertsen, Mary Clark and Vicki Norby, all of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; two sons, Richard Love and David Love, and one daughter, Laura Hopkins, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard B. Love of Ohio; and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen; two sons, James P. Mills-Winkler and Fred C. Mills-Winkler; two brothers, Brian and Rex; two sisters, Joan, Billie and Doris; and five grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, James Rasmussen of Brigham City, Utah; three daughters, Lucy Brown of Dana Point, Calif., Rhea Hooper of Garden Grove, Calif., and Joyce Ann Rodgers of Las Vegas; one brother, Clifford Chandler of Corona, Calif.; two sisters, Grace Wardle of Corona and Roxie Wardle of Phoenix; 15 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

A resident for 26 years, she was a retired journeyman optician, a World War II Army veteran, first woman commander of an American Legion post in Nevada and a member of American Legion Post 31 in Boulder City for 25 years.

She is survived by one son, Skip Ward of Chicago; one daughter, Kathleen Ward of Boulder City; one stepdaughter, Jane Golaszewski of Henderson; and one foster daughter, Sonjia Laverty of Boulder City; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
