Letter: Israel will defend itself
Wednesday, May 29, 2002 | 9:24 a.m.
I am in full agreement with the Israelis for refusing to let biased people from the United Nations come in to pre-condemn the Israelis when they really should see Jenin for the armed camp it really is. Even the Palestinian police don't want to go there! Houses are booby-trapped and many are bomb factories.
It is ironic that armed Arabs took refuge in a Christian church when the annihilation of the so-called "infidels" is their mission in life! They have given God the role of evil.
Have you ever seen the map with little Israel surrounded by the Arab League? Why do they covet that small land? Plain greed and hate!
I stand 100 percent behind the Israelis, who do not want war but have to respond to Arab violence. They do not let their children strap dynamite to their bodies and blow themselves and others up as martyrs. The suicide bombers are not martyrs; they are paid murderers.
Israel wants to live in peace with its neighbors, but the Arab extremists won't let it. I am sure many Palestinians also would like peace, but they dare not express themselves.
Israelis, when provoked beyond measure, fight mightily and justly to defend their people and their country.
