"Hair Wars," a choreographed, four-hour stage show featuring the latest trends in creative and exotic hairstyles, funky fashions and more than 30 hair-related skits, returns Sunday to Las Vegas.
Hairstylists and models from throughout the country will participate in the event at Bally's Platinum Ballroom, which demonstrates outlandishly spiked, swirled, braided and whipped hairdos.
Conservative styles, as well as those decked with feathers, vivid colors, decorative accessories and unique contraptions, will be showcased at the event, which first visited Las Vegas in 1999 and returned in 2001.
"Hair Wars" tours the country and incorporates stylists from each city in the show. It was created more than 10 years ago by David Humphries, a former entertainment promoter and disc jockey from Detroit, who mixed a hair-design competition with a dance party and realized there was an audience for big, fanciful hairstyles.
