Had a good summer camp experience when you were a youth?

A single, working mother says her 10-year-old son would benefit from going to camp with other children. An only child, he spends a lot of his time with adults.
Camp would give him an opportunity to learn about nature, crafts and other things that would interest a boy his age.
The father of a second grade student says his daughter would enjoy participating in activities at summer camp.
"She has been a good student, and our limited income stops her from being able to participate in camp," he writes. "This would be an excellent opportunity for her."
Some people contribute to the Sun Camp Fund because either they or a member of their family received camp fund assistance in the past.
A woman recently sent in $50 and an accompanying note: "When my kids were little and we were poor, we have the benefit of the Sun Camp Fund."
She wanted to donate money so other children can have the same benefits of a camping experience.
All donations to the camp fund go directly to send children to camp. The Las Vegas Sun covers all administrative costs.
