Teamsters Local 631 of Las Vegas has been named one of eight Teamster affiliates to receive awards for exposing local students to a variety of career and work opportunities.
A representative of the Teamsters will accept the award later this year at a meeting in Washington, D.C.
Local 631 was cited or helping youths in Southern Nevada get into apprenticeship and training programs in the construction and convention fields.
The various Teamster programs nationwide are designed to educate students on the role of labor unions in the economy and expose students to work scenarios.
