Dorothea H. Allred
Dorothea H. Allred, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Sayre, Okla. A resident for 49 years, she was a bookkeeper, the first female crane operator in the country and a member of the National Association of Accountants.
She is survived by one son, James Jackson of North Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Cheryll J. Bookman-Strother
Cheryll J. Bookman-Strother, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1949, in Greensboro, N.C. A resident for one year, she was a retired senior civil court clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; two daughters, Felicia Bookman of Las Vegas and Aimee Bookman of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one son, James William Bookman III of Queens, N.Y.; one stepdaughter, Cheryl B. Scott of New Jersey; her father and stepmother, Lucy Pridgen, two brothers, Daniel Pridgen Jr. and Steven Pridgen, and one sister, Lisa Pridgen, all of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling local arrangements. Cobbs Funeral Home, East Elmhurst, N.Y., is handling out-of-state arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Save the Children or Christian Children's Fund.
Carl K. Bowen
Carl K. Bowen, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. A resident for 15 years, he was born April 20, 1912, in Orcutt, Calif.
He is survived by two children, Carl R. "Ron" Bowen of San Marcos, Calif., and Mickey Maxey of Mission Viejo, Calif.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Gary W. Brooks
Gary W. Brooks, 47, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for two years, he was born Sept. 22, 1954, in Carbondale, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie L.; four children, Kenny Brooks of Duquoin, Ill., Brandi Dunaway of Vandalia, Ill., Gregory Kissiar of Lompoc, Calif., and Joshua Brooks of Las Vegas; his father, Harold Brooks of Carbondale; his mother, Delores Brooks of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Robert Brooks of Herrin, Ill., and Bryan Brooks and Billy Brooks, both of Tampa, Fla.; his grandparent, J.E. Brooks of Carbondale; and five grandchildren.
Burial will be in Carbondale. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Adriano G. Cabiles
Adriano G. Cabiles, 79, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 7, 1923, in the Philippines. A resident for four months, he was an educator, a professor and a Philippine veteran.
He is survived by three sons, Edwin Cabiles and Darwin Cabiles, both of the Philippines, and Adrian Cabiles of Las Vegas; four daughters, Bonita Bernardo, Adelia Cabutotan and Rosario Vidanes, all of Las Vegas, and Evalisa Malone of the Philippines; three brothers, Justiniano Cabiles and Fernando Cabiles, both of the Philippines, and Orlando Cabiles of San Francisco; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will be in the Philippines.
Corine Carter-Ringer
Corine Carter-Ringer, 71, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Louisiana. A resident for 60 years, she was a casino porter.
She is survived by two sons, Leon Carter Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., and Lonnie Ray Carter of Las Vegas; three daughters, Anna Carter, Barbara McCalister and Valina Carter, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Mack Lucas of Reno, Elbert Holmes of Las Vegas, Luther Holmes of Los Angeles and Roy Lucas of Louisiana; seven sisters, Nora Kinsey, Louise Edwards, Florence Lucas and Vannie Davis, all of Las Vegas, Josephine Brown and Lula Lucas, both of Louisiana and Rosie Holmes of Los Angeles; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Friday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Margie A. Freshwater
Margie A. Freshwater, 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 19, 1942, in Athens, Ala. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, James, and two sons, Curtis and Jonathan, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Bill Jarrett of Cedar City, Utah; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Lindell chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Pascacio Medina
Pascacio Medina, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Mexico. A resident for four years, he was a retired laborer for a wholesale meat-packing plant.
He is survived by his wife, Porfiria; six daughters, Beatriz Montelongo of Moreno Valley, Calif., Angelica Estrada of Southgate, Calif.; and Maria Medina, Rosa Medina, Marisol Medina and Luz Medina, all of Las Vegas; one son, Freddy Medina of Las Vegas; two sisters, Gloria Medina and Luz Lopez, and two brothers, Sabas Medina and Joaquin Medina, all of Mexico; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday with a 6:30 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.
Robert Pierce
Robert Pierce, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Venus, Texas. A resident for one year, he was a retired Air Force security police officer, a Vietnam War and Korean War Air Force veteran, a former member of the Free Masons and a member of the Air Force Security Police Association.
He is survived by one daughter, Desiree L. Pierce of Las Vegas; one stepson, Theodore Pierce Sr. of West Covina, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Deanna A. Rivera (Woods)
Deanna A. Rivera (Woods), 31, of Las Vegas died April 30 in Guam. She was born Feb. 18, 1971, in Detroit. A resident for 21 years, she worked at Today's Realty in Guam.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard S. Woods.
She is survived by her husband, Marcelo Rivera of the Air Force; her mother, Carol A. Rubus of Alabama; her father, Richard Woods, and one sister, Savanah Woods, both of South Carolina.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
Geraldine Rebecca Rosser
Geraldine Rebecca Rosser, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired auditor for an automobile registration company.
She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Zenobia Conkrite of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one son, Anthony Rosser, and one brother, Albert Jenkins, both of Los Angeles; two sisters, Irene Villamor of Los Angeles and Ruth of San Diego; and two grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Curtis Rowell
Curtis Rowell, 61, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. A mechanic, assistant chief of the fire department in Honeoye, N.Y., and a member of the TTOS Train Club, he was born April 11, 1941, in New York.
He is survived by one son, Brian Rowell of New York; and two daughters, Janice Rowell of Las Vegas and Janis Rowell of New York.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1:30 p.m. service Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.
Cecilia Helena Scepan
Cecilia Helena Scepan, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Canada. A resident for 37 years, she was a variety store sales clerk.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet Kajkowski of Las Vegas and Joanna McClellan and Joyce Jacko, both of New Jersey; one sister, Vera Mastroluisi of Canada.

Harold Schnipper
Harold Schnipper, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a retired World War II and Korean War Air Force officer for 30 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Maja Doherty and Sylvie Stuart, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Gay Anna Takach aka Takacs
Gay Anna Takach aka Takacs, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 22, 1927, in Ury, W.Va. A resident for six years, she was a registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Steven; one son, John Steven Takach aka Takacs of Las Vegas; and one sister, Patricia Kalustian of North Hollywood, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled 8:30-10:15 a.m. Tuesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Connie F. Taylor
Connie F. Taylor, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born May 2, 1962, in Los Angeles. A resident for nine years, she was a retired cook.
She is survived by her husband, Chad; two sons, Anthony Bernal and Daniel Taylor, her parents, Elias and Petra Rojas, and one brother, Edward Rojas, all of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Rosemary Vasquez of Albany, Ore., Diane Isidra of Everett, Wash., and Eileen Ruiz of Alta Loma, Calif.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Alfred J. Urbish
Alfred J. Urbish, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Penelope, Texas. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired painter for the state government, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He is survived by one daughter, Jeannette Cooper of Las Vegas; one son, Glenn Urbish of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Gertrude Voboda of Marietta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Harry Williams
Harry Williams, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Lyden, Kan. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired gasoline company truck driver and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; one son, Edwin Bennett, and one daughter, Peggy Bennett, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

LaTasha Marie Williams-Pamplin, 30, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 2, 1971, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a medical biller for a medical company.
She is survived by one son, John David Charles Arthur Pamplin Jr., two daughters, Latoshianna Monique Pamplin and Totiana Pamplin, her parents, Charlie and Vivian Williams, and two sisters, Aisha D. Williams and Gabrielle L. Williams, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., Las Vegas.
