Local principals honored by national group

Steven Henick and Shauna Zobel have been selected this year's Nevada principals of the year by MetLife National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Henick, principal of Las Vegas' Horizon Northwest School, was named High School Principal of the Year and Zobel, principal of Garret Middle School, was Nevada Middle Level School Principal of the Year.
They were selected for demonstrating excellence in the area of educational leadership, complex problem solving, professional growth and community involvement, the NASSP said.
