Five Arthur Andersen employees with decades of experience auditing gaming and hospitality companies are jumping ship to join Deloitte & Touche.
Former Andersen executives Tom Roche, Steve Comer, Larry Krause and Terry Melia will be based in Las Vegas with Deloitte and Wade McKnight will be based in Memphis, Tenn.
Over the past few weeks, Deloitte has become the dominant auditor in the gaming industry, winning such clients as MGM MIRAGE, Mandalay Resort Group, Harrah's Entertainment Inc. and Alliance Gaming Corp. from Andersen. Station Casinos Inc. shareholders will decide Wednesday whether to keep Andersen.
Roche spent four years as a member of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and most recently led Andersen's Risk Consulting practice, providing regulatory compliance assessment to gaming companies. Comer founded Arthur Andersen's Las Vegas office in 1985.
