DENVER -- Colorado casinos produced $59.8 million in adjusted gross proceeds in April, down 5.8 percent from the previous month.
The state Division of Gaming released the results Friday. While the total was down from the $63.5 million won in March, it was up 9.6 percent from $54.6 million in April 2001.
Adjusted gross proceeds are the amount wagered minus the casinos' payouts.
The casinos in the three towns where gambling is legal paid $10.2 million in state taxes in April, down from $10.6 million paid in March.
