The aquatics complex, a recreation center and an adjacent park were built at a cost of almost $10 million. Funding for the project was provided by Clark County, the Clark County School District and the city of North Las Vegas. Area high school swim teams will train at the center.
The summer hours of operation are: 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Facility rates are $3 for adults and $1 for children. The swim facility features an 11,000-square-foot play pool with water slide and eight swim lanes and a 7,000-square-foot building with lifeguard center, concession stand, restrooms and showers. Among the grand opening festivities on Saturday were a fashion show of sportswear, a dance and!an outdoor showing of the movie, "Free Willy."
