Woman found stabbed to death

Metro Police are investigating the apparent stabbing death of a woman and wounding of a man in a southwest Las Vegas home Thursday night.

Officers were called to the 8800 block of Quail Country Way, near Desert Inn Road and Durango Drive, about 11 p.m. Thursday. Officers found a woman stabbed to death and a man with stab wounds.

The man, 30-year-old John Pamplin, was taken to University Medical Center and was in fair condition this morning.

Three children in the home at the time were taken to Child Haven, the county children's shelter.

Police were trying to determine what occurred inside the home and what the relationship was between the Pamplin and the woman, whose name was not released this morning.
