Public hearing set June 3 on council wards measure

The Las Vegas City Council introduced a bill on Wednesday that will finalize the latest proposal to adjust ward boundaries.
The final public hearing on the changes in boundaries will be during a committee hearing June 3, before it is adopted by the council June 5.
The new proposal keeps 7,000 residents living in the Charleston Heights area in Councilman Michael McDonald's ward, a point of contention before the proposal was changed by retired Wisconsin Judge Frederick Kessler, who was hired by the city to redraw the boundaries.
