Letter: Homeless mess not just mayor’s

Barbara Hall notes in her May 14 letter to the editor that there is so much more the city should be doing to help the homeless.
I find this laughable, as should anyone who has been following all that Mayor Oscar Goodman has tried to do for the homeless, and the countless number of times he and Las Vegas City Council members have gone down to the area in question, asking these people if they would accept counseling or other assistance, only to be turned down.
Hall seems to think that these people have a right to squat wherever they please and to take up residence in front of businesses and homes that do not belong to them. She feels our city should do more. As I recall, a city is made up of people. Why is she waiting for the mayor to act.
Perhaps, if she is so concerned, she would like to offer her own front yard to these people?
