The Alta Drive improvement project that will add a meandering sidewalk and landscaping will begin next week.

Starting Monday Alta Drive will be closed to traffic between Rancho and Campbell drives. The closure will remain in effect for about two months, although access will be maintained for area residents.

The closure is necessary as crews begin work on the $1.7 million Alta Drive West improvement project that includes removal and replacement of existing roadway and installation of new landscaping improvements.

When work is completed on this section of Alta Drive, crews plan to proceed west with construction, to Valley View Boulevard. The entire project will take four months to complete.
