The Service Employees International Union Local 1107 failed in its second attempt to represent 332 non-professional employees of Valley Hospital in Las Vegas.
The election, which ended Friday, is the second since 1999 and targets employees such as buyers, cashiers, clerical assistants, video technicians, radiology technicians and assistant nursing trainees.
Mike Chavez, the National Labor Relations Board's resident officer, said 305 of the 332 eligible non-professional Valley employees voted. The employees voted 173-121 to reject the union, he said.
Chavez said the union has until May 7 to file objections to the election results.
