Man sentenced to 10 years

One of three men who pleaded guilty in connection with a gun battle that resulted in the shooting of an 8-year-old girl was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday.

Andre Lee will have to serve at least two years and two months before becoming eligible for parole, Deputy District Attorney Robert Daskas said.

Prosecutors alleged Daniel McLeroy, 27, Eric Ogle, 29, and Lee, 30, got into a confrontation near Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road Dec. 8, pulled weapons and fired at each other.

Karatoya Wilkes, 8, was struck in the chest by one of the bullets, but has recovered.

McLeroy is serving three to eight years in connection with the shooting and Ogle will be sentenced May 23.

Woman, 62, indicted in accident

A 62-year-old Las Vegas woman has been indicted in connection with a four-vehicle crash that killed a 29-year-old woman in January.

District Judge John McGroarty issued a warrant for Lucinda Anderson's arrest after an indictment was unsealed Friday charging her with driving under the influence, reckless driving and involuntary manslaughter.

According to police, Michaela K. Hamilton died when her car was struck after a series of collisions on Flamingo Road near Arville Street about 12:50 a.m. Jan. 21.

Police allege Anderson pulled out of a casino parking lot across four lanes of traffic and was struck by another car. Anderson's car went across the median and struck a van, Metro Police said.

The van then went across the median and struck Hamilton's car. She was ejected from the car. Anderson left the scene and was later arrested and released, police said.
