Elaine Bachmann

Elaine Bachmann, 91, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 1, 1911, in San Francisco. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired retail businesswoman and a member of the Newcomers Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Bachmann of Las Vegas and Mary Anne Johnson of San Antonio; and one son, Jeff Bachmann of Redondo, Calif.

Services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 E. Desert Inn Road, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Tomas Perez Betancourt

Tomas Perez Betancourt, 73, of Las Vegas died April 30 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Cuba. A resident for many years, he was a laborer.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Virginia Carter

Virginia Carter, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 19, 1912, in Sheridan, Wyo. A resident for seven years, she was a retired lab attendant in the University of Southern California Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Leander Thornton of Las Vegas and Donald Carter of Inkster, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren.

Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Susie L. Dades

Susie L. Dades, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 30, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired dealer.

She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Cynthia Dades of Carlsbad, Calif., Johnna Cripe of Sandy Valley and Deborah Fuller of Maumee, Ohio; one son, Russell Dades of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Yvette Anne Edwards

Yvette Anne Edwards, 37, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 28, 1965, in Bellevue, Pa. A resident for 30 years, she was a hotel chief clerk.

She is survived by her father, Robert T. Edwards Sr. of Pittsburgh; her mother, Vivien Edwards, one brother, Robert T. Edwards III, and her fiance, David Devaney, all of Las Vegas; and her grandmother, Dorothy Snyder of Pittsburgh.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday with a 5 p.m. service in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Barbara E. Foy

Barbara E. Foy, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 8, 1935, in Pomona, Calif. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Keith Anthony, and one daughter, Robin Lanette Anthony, both of Henderson; and one granddaughter.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ann M. Hall

Ann M. Hall, 86, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born July 24, 1915, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Bykowski and Josephine Bykowski, and one brother, Leonard Bykowski, all of Henderson.

Joe Louis Hall

Joe Louis Hall, 65, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 11, 1936, in Ferriday, La. A resident for 63 years, he was a chef at the Nevada Test Site and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Julia; five sons, O'dell Garden, Wayne Edward Hall, Michael Butler and Louis Washington, all of Las Vegas, and Joe Hall Jr. of Jackson, Miss.; four daughters, Darlene Hall, Cynthia Hall, Deloris West and Patricia Butler, and four brothers, William Hall, Richard Hall, David Hall and Houston Hall, all of Las Vegas; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Daniel Hohnstein

Daniel Hohnstein, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. A computer specialist for Boulder Station and a veteran of the National Guard, he was born April 2, 1946.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Stephanie; one adopted son, Kent; one brother, Richard; one sister, Jane; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Muriel C. Izzo

Muriel C. Izzo, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Bayonne, N.J. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired manager in the financial field.

She is survived by her husband, Mario.

Thomas L. Lepak

Thomas L. Lepak, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Green Bay, Wis. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired automotive mechanic and Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Jody Lepak of Las Vegas and Deanna Lepak of Henderson; two sisters, Rose Cusick of Pahrump and Diane LeChevalier of Henderson; and two brothers, Roland Lepak Sr. and James Lepak, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Russell Tolman Loveland

Russell Tolman Loveland, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born March 14, 1924, in Bancroft, Idaho. A resident for 56 years, he was a grocery store meat cutter, a worker in the St. George, Utah, LDS Temple and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by four sons, Mal Loveland and Riss Loveland, both of Las Vegas, and Lafell Loveland and Scott Loveland, both of Henderson; one daughter, Janet Robertson of Henderson; four brothers, Orlin "O.C." Loveland and Odell Loveland, both of Las Vegas, Heber Loveland of Kaysville, Utah, and Lynn Loveland of North Las Vegas; three sisters, Leah Morgan of San Ramon, Calif., Afton Hyde of Hyrum, Utah, and Donna York of North Las Vegas; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the Walnut and Carey LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Patrick A. Martinez

Patrick A. Martinez, 49, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1952, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for 14 years, he was a musician for 30 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Martinez of Idaho and Ariel Genung of California; his mother, Lucy Lacher; three brothers, James J. Martinez of Florida, Dennis A. Martinez of Utah and Marc Lacher of California; one sister, Brenda Lacher of Georgia; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. services today in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Louis Matthews

Louis Matthews, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 4, 1923, in Philadelphia. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired city government maintenance worker and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta; and one son, Robert Matthews of Las Vegas.

John Moore Sr.

John Moore Sr., 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 10, 1911, in West Springfield, Mass. A resident for 45 years, he was a city marshal, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.

He is survived by four daughters, Jean Trefes of Westerly, R.I., and Ruth Kiley, Marilyn Hill and Jacqueline Marsh, all of Las Vegas; one son, John W. Moore Jr. of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. rosary Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Nancy Jo Perdue

Nancy Jo Perdue, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born March 9, 1950, in California. A resident for 13 years, she was a secretary at a construction company.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Amy and Julie; two sisters, Madi and Wanda; and two grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging private family services.

Manuel D. Razo

Manuel D. Razo, 43, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1958, in Mexico. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired maintenance worker.

He is survived by one son, Manuel M. Razo, four brothers, Nicolas Razo, Juan Razo, Alfonso Razo and Antonio Razo, and four sisters, Maria Acosta, Rosario Acosta, Martina Garcia and Rafaela Acosta, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Chanda I. Root

Chanda I. Root, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 17, 1950, in Whittier, Calif. A resident for 13 years, she was a supervisor in the finance industry.

She is survived by one son, Antonio Araiza of Oceanside, Calif.; one daughter, Cynthia Araiza, and one brother, Wyly Thompson, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Edward Sheridan

Edward Sheridan, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in New Jersey. A resident for many years, he was a banker. He is survived by his wife, June; and two sons, Robert Sheridan and Stephen Sheridan, both of Las Vegas.

Raymond Smith

Raymond Smith, 80, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for three years, he was a retired Navy captain, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Retired Officers Association, Fleet Reserve Association and Naval Intelligence Professionals.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ellen; one daughter, Elaine Johnston of Ogden, Utah; three sons, Peter Smith of Lancaster, Pa., Barry Smith of Henderson and Kenneth Smith of Olney, Md.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

Anthony Michael Sorensen

Anthony Michael Sorensen, 4 months, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 2, 2002, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Vickie, and two sisters, Marissa and Alexis, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Felix and Lupe Estrada of Henderson, and Michael and Peggy Sorensen of Pocatello, Idaho; and his great-grandparents, Donald and Deloris Midthun of Marysville, Calif.

She is survived by one son, William Ronald Thomas; four daughters, Patricia Hutchinson, Cathy Sandusky, Susan Pejcoch and Loretta Kranitz; one sister, Kathleen Stoner; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Vito; five sons, Cyprian Vespe and Stephen Vespe, both of Las Vegas, Vito Vespe of Cochranville, Pa., Vincent Vespe of West Deptford, N.J., and Frank Vespe of Burlington, N.J.; four sisters, Theresa Vindick and Lillian Sanelli, both of Cherry Hill, N.J., Rosalee Cigila of Westville, N.J., and Marie Milewski of Gloucester, N.J.; one brother, Frank Costantino of Mount Laurel, N.J.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Louretta Williams, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born May 8, 1911, in Natchez, Miss. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hilliard of North Las Vegas and Cynthia Sims of Chicago; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
