Car seat check at doughnut shop
As part of the SAFE KIDS campaign dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injury, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts of Las Vegas will host a car seat check from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Krispy Kreme at 1131 W. Craig Road.
As a special incentive, children will be entered into a raffle for a Nevada Pre-paid Scholarship being given away by Krispy Kreme.
Free doughnuts and coffee will be served.
The American Baptist Women's Group
of Warm Springs Baptist Church will host a Mother/Daughter Tea at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 2075 E. Warm Springs Road. Barbara Hudson will be the speaker and will present her Women of the Bible program in four stages. Call 361-7070.
The first Classroom On Wheels
charity ride to support COW will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at US Cycle, 3310 S. Highland Drive, and end at the Hacienda hotel in Boulder City. The Hacienda party will include live music, a barbecue and a raffle. Tickets are $30. Call 791-0366 for more information.
Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer
of Southern Nevada presents a 5K and one-mile fun run 7:30 a.m. Saturday starting and finishing at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The event will include a race T-shirt, raffles, special gifts, an awards ceremony and post-race refreshments. Call 386-7200.
