Currently: After playing one season for Chandler-Gilbert (Ariz.) Community College, Grose is splitting time behind the plate for the No. 14 Cornhuskers this season. Grose, who has played in 28 of the team's 49 games (starting 21), is batting .420 with eight doubles, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored. At Chandler-Gilbert, Grose hit .397 with four homers and 37 RBIs in 2001, helping his squad reach the conference semifinals.
Looking back: Two-time team captain for the Gators, Grose hit .480 as a senior with nine home runs, helped his school make the playoffs both years and earned all-Sunrise and honorable mention Sun all-state recognition. Grose was drafted out of high school by the White Sox in the 42nd round, then was selected by the Braves in the 35th round of last year's draft.
