SilverStone to host regional tournaments

Southern Nevada's top prep golfers will be on display today, when the Class 4A Sunrise and Sunset regional boys tournaments tee off at SilverStone Golf Club.

Both 18-hole events were slated to get underway at noon. The top three teams from each region, along with the top-five individuals from the remaining squads, will advancing to next week's two-day 4A State Tournament.

Defending state champion Palo Verde, Bishop Gorman, Bonanza and Durango are expected to contend in the Sunset Region, with Coronado and Green Valley among the favorites on the Sunrise side.
