Quirino C. Albano

Quirino C. Albano, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 4, 1918, in the Philippines. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired school principal and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Justina of Long Beach, Calif.; eight daughters, Justina Tuquero, Teresita Andres, Mila Marcelino and Elaine Okuda, all of Las Vegas, Zenaida Cantorna of the Philippines, Lani Nerona of Long Beach, Calif., Neonita Bonoan of Porterville, Calif., and Josephine Fernandez of Sydney, Australia; five sons, Florante Albano of Modesto, Calif., Alexander Albano of Long Beach, Calif., Quirino Albano and Jim Albano, both of Sydney and Robert Albano of Delaware; 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Kyan David Andersen

Kyan David Andersen, 27, of Henderson died Friday in Clark County. He was born Feb. 11, 1975, in Denver. A resident for 21 years, he delivered auto parts for Fairway Chevrolet.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Anderson of Henderson; three sisters, Misha Andersen and Alita Andersen, both of Henderson, and Nearie Howes of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Charles and Mildred Einarsen of Littleton, Colo., and Norbert and Cherry Andersen of Sterling, Colo.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. today in Greater Grace Church, 4350 S. Arville St., Suite D-33. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Dushan Baskot

Dushan Baskot, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 24, 1926, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 20 years, he was a former employee of Bally's, MGM, Aladdin and Excalibur, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Culinary Union and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Terry Brooker of Las Vegas and Paula Strusinski of Rutland, Vt.; one brother, Walter Baskot of West Mifflin, Pa.; three sisters, Myra Farrell of Pittsburgh, Zora Nedzbala of West Mifflin and Mitzie Pilipovich of Bethel Park, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., handled private arrangements.

John S. Chesman

John S. Chesman, 96, of Las Vegas, died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 6, 1905, in Battle Creek, Mich. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired teacher and member of the University of Michigan Alumni Club.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three daughters, Sheila Sloan, Sally Nadeau and Susan Griffin, all of San Diego; one son, John A. Chesman of Monroe, Mich.; one sister, Virginia West of Sun City West, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Palm.

Dwayne Dee Davis

Dwayne Dee Davis, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 27, 1950, in Carlsbad, N.M. A resident for three years, he was a member of Elks Lodge 1558 for 16 years in Carlsbad.

He is survived by his wife, Jayne Alice; his mother, Julia Jean Frensley of El Paso, Texas; one brother, Forrest Davis of Colorado; and one sister, Gwen Pruitt of Texas.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Christina Dorothy Dunlap

Christina Dorothy Dunlap, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Pennsylvania. A resident for more than 19 years, she was a homemaker.

Curtis C. Embry Jr.

Curtis C. Embry Jr., 53, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1948, in Miami. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; one son, Chad Embry, and one daughter, Vicki Garcia, both of Henderson; his mother, Elaine Embry of Cordelle, Ga.; two brothers, Norman Embry of Albany, Ga., and Wayne Embry of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Nancy Hardy of Seville, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at noon today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Jack B. Fulton Jr.

Jack B. Fulton Jr., 66, of Sandy Valley died Sunday in Sandy Valley. He was born July 4, 1935, in Pittsburgh. A resident of Sandy Valley for 13 years and a Nevada resident for 48 years, he was a bartender at the El Cortez for 27 years and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one son, Ronald J. Fulton, and his mother, Vernie Notaro, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Sandy Seibert of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Lillian Rose Hockin

Lillian Rose Hockin, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 25, 1922, in New Jersey. A resident for 12 years, she was a nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Bert.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Grand Court, 6650 W. Flamingo Road. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Rudolph Holmes

Rudolph Holmes, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 2, 1918, in Weakley County, Tenn. A resident for two years, he was a retired maintenance worker for a tire manufacturer.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie N.; one daughter, Ellen Jane Holmes of Nantucket, Mass.; three sons, Milton Holmes and Donald K. Holmes, both of Nantucket, and Ronald Holmes Sr. of Las Vegas; three sisters, Jennie Marie Littleton and Minnie Mae Patton, both of Chicago, and Hester Holmes of Mayfield, Ky. eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 4 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be in Kentucky.

Marianna Josephine Koller

Marianna Josephine Koller, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Glenview, Ill. She was born May 11, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for several years, she was the former owner of Mari-Anne Travel Enterprises of Schiller Park, Ill., and a member of the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by one son, Jim Koller of Des Plaines, Ill.; one brother, Vincent Dugo; one sister, Frances Oberly; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Thomas Alvin Lunt

Thomas Alvin Lunt, 92, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 25, 1909, in Colonia Diaz, Mexico. A resident for 51 years, he was a retired carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local 1780.

He is survived by his wife, Eula C.; one daughter, Marie Bauer of Henderson; three sons, Rex Lunt, Del Lunt and Joe Lunt, all of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Marlene Chidester of Murray, Utah; one sister, Zina Rigby of Cedar City, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday in the Cholla Street LDS Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Emma Mae McCraney

Emma Mae McCraney, 40, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1961, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 34 years, she was a hotel waitress.

She is survived by two sons, Quadhalle V. McCraney and Jerris Darrel McCraney, her mother, Millie Louise Moore, and two sisters, Mable Lee Moore and Annie Mae Moore, all of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Earnest Phillips of North Las Vegas and Keith Wroten of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Charles A. Meeker

Charles A. Meeker, 83, of Pahrump died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1918, in Goodknight, Okla. A resident for 53 years, he owned an air conditioning service company.

He is survived by one sister, Vera Hawk of Yorba Linda, Calif.

Hazel Rita Miller

Hazel Rita Miller, 87, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 21, 1914, in Sioux City, Iowa. A resident for 60 years, she was a homemaker, a former Election Department employee for 50 years, a charter member of Eagles Auxiliary 2642, a member of the Iris Club and a former Girl Scout troop leader.

She is survived by one daughter, George Ann M. Watson of Boulder City; one sister, Dorothy Kent of Sioux City; one brother, Bill Wittern of Huntington, W.Va.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-6 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Friday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Thelma E. Moir

Thelma E. Moir, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 11, 1917, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

Rubye Rossett

Rubye Rossett, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Tennessee. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one niece, Sharon O'Connor of Watertown, Mass.

She is survived by her husband, Harry.

Kathryn Sampson

Kathryn Sampson, 55, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 16, 1946, in Bakersfield, Calif. A resident for eight years, she was a quality assurance manager for a medical firm.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Henderson; one son, Michael Baldridge, and one daughter, Elisabeth Baldridge, both of Bakersfield; one stepdaughter, Jessica Sampson of Henderson; her father, William Wyatt of Fullerton, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Joseph Sandino

Joseph Sandino, 57, of Rio Rico, Ariz., died April 18 in Tucson. He was born April 2, 1945, Tooely, Utah. A former resident of Las Vegas, he was a produce broker and a former Green Beret.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Paddy Sandino of Las Vegas and Alexander Sandino of Rio Rico; and two sisters, Rena Joseph and Joy Bohlman, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Bishop Gorman High School, 1801 Maryland Parkway. Desert Rose Mortuary in Tucson, is handling arrangements.

Heather Saxe

Heather Saxe, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Detroit. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker, a member of Temple Beth Sholom's Sisterhood, Hadassah and Overseas Rehabilitation Training.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; three sons, Michael Saxe, Steven Saxe and Joshua Saxe, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Helen Lepofsky, and one sister, Ava Wagner, both of Oak Park, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, followed by graveside services in King David Cemetery. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, handled arrangements.

Charles Walter Shifflet, 84, of Henderson died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Oct. 15, 1917, in New Market, Va. A resident for one year, he was a truck driver for a furniture company, a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines and a member of the Masons in Williamsport, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian; one daughter, Ellen West of Henderson; four brothers, Roy Shifflet of Valrico, Fla., Max Shifflet of Linden, Pa., Bill Shifflet of Cogan Station, Pa., and Bob Shifflet of Emporia, Kan.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Raymond Smith, 80, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for three years, he was a retired Navy captain, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Retired Officers Association, Fleet Reserve Association and Naval Intelligence Professionals.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ellen; one daughter, Elaine Johnston of Ogden, Utah; three sons, Peter Smith of Lancaster, Pa., Barry Smith of Henderson and Kenneth Smith of Olney, Md.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

Fred Vogelweid

Fred Vogelweid, 75, of Henderson died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Sept. 11, 1926, in St. Louis. A resident for five years, he was a retired certified public accountant for a lumber company, a Korean War Marine Corps veteran of the First Marine Division, a member of Disabled American Veterans and the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; one son, John Zepper of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Joy Jones of Comstock Park, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Pearlie Walker

Pearlie Walker, 86, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 23, 1916, in Eldorado, Ark. A resident for 50 years, she was a Nevada Test Site employee for more than 30 years.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
