The U.S. marshal for Nevada has been appointed to an executive security position with Station Casinos Inc. of Las Vegas.

Jose Troncoso, who has held the marshal's post since November 1997 and was awaiting Senate confirmation of President Bush's nomination to reappoint him to the post, will take over as Station's corporate vice president of security May 20.

Among the U.S. marshal's office's responsibilities is maintaining security at federal courthouses.

The Station position was newly created by the company. A spokeswoman said the company is centralizing security functions over its seven Las Vegas-area properties.
