Gambling foes create coalition

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A newly formed coalition seeks to stop the planned construction of an Indian-run casino in Buffalo, citing economic and moral reasons.
Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County includes religious and government leaders.
"On the surface, it looks like a lot of money will be coming to Buffalo. Millions will apparently be invested in new buildings," Dan Schifeling, the group's interim secretary, said. "But these new buildings will be just a marvelous drain to siphon money out of Buffalo."
