Fred B. Andersen

Fred B. Andersen, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 7, 1935, in Hjoerrng, Denmark. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired heating and air conditioning mechanic.

He is survived by one sister, Karen Buchholtz of Denmark.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is arranging private services.

Jay Corn

Jay Corn, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 7, 1941, in New York City. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a retired cantor at a synagogue and received an honorary doctorate in sacred music from Hebrew Union College.

He is survived by his wife, Natalie; two daughters, Danielle Corn-Dreitzer of Las Vegas and Heather Corn of Rosedale, N.Y.; one sister, Joyce Bunkin of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be Wednesday in Farmingdale, N.Y. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Clarence Eugene Frey

Clarence Eugene Frey, 79, of Las Vegas died April 27 in Las Vegas. He was born March 10, 1923, in Pierre, S.D. A resident for three months, he was a welder and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Harold Frey, and one daughter, Theresa Kelly, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Dale Frey of Texas; and five grandchildren.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Emily Natalie Jolley

Emily Natalie Jolley, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 17, 1917, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 47 years, she was a homemaker, a member of Job's Daughters, Order of the Eastern Star and Kappa Beta Phi.

She is survived by her husband, Howard; one daughter, Deborah Rolf, one son, Gregory Jolley, both of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.

Ruth Ann Posey

Ruth Ann Posey, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Leroy, Kan. A resident for 20 years, she was an interior consultant for a furniture business.

She is survived by one son, Kevin L. Posey of Overland Park, Kan.; one daughter, Krista K. Rains of Las Vegas; two brothers, Bob Quiggle of Canyon, Texas, and Brian Quiggle of Wichita, Kan.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Phillip M. Ramos

Phillip M. Ramos, 22, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 16, 1980, in Las Vegas. He was a laborer in the construction industry and a member of the Laborers Union.

He is survived by his wife, Yvette; one son, Xavier Ramos, one daughter, Yazmin Ramos, and his father, Jesus Manuel Ramos, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Brenda Ramos of Las Vegas, N.M.; three sisters, Vanessa Lucero and Tonya Ramos, both of Las Vegas, and Veronica Ramos of Las Vegas, N.M.; three brothers, Jessie Ramos, Joey Ramos and Billy Ramos, all of Las Vegas; and his three grandmothers, Frances Lucero of Mora, N.M., and Catherine Lemos and Aurora Ramos, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated noon Wednesday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St.

Barbara P. Morris Schofield

Barbara P. Morris Schofield, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 30, 1935, in Erie, Pa. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired real estate agent.

She is survived by four sons, Douglas Morris of Sauk Rapids, Minn., Thomas Morris of Las Vegas, Theodore Morris of Corona, Calif., and Samuel Bartelli of Tucson; her mother, Marcella Cooper of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Carl Schraiber

Carl Schraiber, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Minneapolis. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired tavern owner-operator and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; three sons, Burton Bernstein and Barry Bernstein, both of Minneapolis, and Neil Bernstein of Northridge, Calif.; one daughter, Patrice Winkelmann of St. George, Utah; one sister, Beverly Pershing of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Local memorial services are pending. Services will be Wednesday in Minneapolis. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Las Vegas Jewish Day School.

Jack E. Shepherd

Jack E. Shepherd, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Gary, Ind. He was a retired electrician, an Army veteran, a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 697, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by four daughters, Wendy J. Gibson of Portage, Ind., Linda D. Shepherd of Las Vegas, Tracy J. Patrick of Hammond, Ind., and Penny A. Garrison of Hobart, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be in Indiana. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Clifton E. Swartzel

Clifton E. Swartzel, 74, of Sandy Valley died Wednesday in Sandy Valley. He was born April 10, 1928, in Cass, Ind. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired accountant, a World War II Navy veteran, lieutenant governor of Kiwanis in California, Hawaii and Nevada, 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, honor member of Sandy Valley Volunteer Fire Department and a eucharistic minister and a member of Legion of Mary at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Shirlie; three daughters, Marcia Ingraham of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Maria Brigham of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Terry Swartzel of Boston; two sons, Steve Swartzel of Monclova, Ohio, and John Swartzel of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Judy Denney of Murray, Utah; one stepson, William Kamp of Palm Desert, Calif.; one sister, Ilene Crites of Blue Water, Fla.; 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Jayde Cheri Woodward

Jayde Cheri Woodward died Saturday, her date of birth, in a local hospital.

She is survived by her parents, Cheri and David Woodward, two sisters, April Woodward and Nicole Woodward, one brother, Bradley Woodward, and her grandparents, Carol and Ralph Sherman and Sandra and Thomas Woodward, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
