BASEBALL
Bonanza 17, Western 6: Brandon Wllmott and Dustin Molisee had three hits apiece and Bobby McMurray and Andrew Smith both homered to lead the Bengals' assault. McMurray, Smith, Billy Osgood and C.J. Garcia each had two hits for Bonanza.
Palo Verde 17, Mojave 7: Matt Switzer and Robbie Richards both had four hits and Chris Cassell drove in five runs for the Panthers.
Foothill 15, Silverado 14: Jabe Beard went 4-for-4, tripled, doubled and drove in three runs, Josh Daneshforooz went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Ricky Cerrone, Ben Lasater and Chance Holland had three hits apiece for the Falcons. Tyler Coon went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Casey Coon added two doubles for the Skyhawks.
Centennial 4, Cimarron-Memorial 3: Bryce Massanari had an RBI double and scored the game-winning run in the sixth inning on a base hit by Andy Primas. Josh Wheeler tripled and Justin Wetzler picked up the win in relief for the Bulldogs.
Sierra Vista 2, Clark 0: Austin Stout tossed a complete-game one-hitter, outdueling Clark's Jason Diekmann and lifting the first-year Lions into the playoffs. Michael Seerup and Austin Stout had RBI singles for the victors.
Las Vegas 13, Desert Pines 2: Sean Kazmar went 3-for-3 with two triples, a double and three RBIs to help the Wildcats finish 10-0 in league play. Kenny Hargrow, Cameron Johnson, David Hamilton and Troy Remer had two hits apiece for Las Vegas.
Chaparral 4, Rancho 2: Matt Backes and Brandon Huff each went 2-for-2, with Backes scoring two runs and Huff driving in three for the Cowboys.
SOFTBALL
Bonanza 14, Western 0: Katie Bausher tossed a complete-game one-hitter, homered and drove in three runs for the Bengals.
Durango 10, Bishop Gorman 0: Kristen Gilliland threw a two-hit shutout, Sarah Bako homered and doubled twice and Amy Gleicher and Diana Hernandez drove in two runs apiece for the Blazers.
Centennial 12, Cimarron-Memorial 2: Dani Delgado went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, Shannon Crisp homered and drove in three runs and Ashleigh McBeath doubled and knocked in three runs for the Bulldogs.
Las Vegas 12, Desert Pines 0: Ashley Ogle went 3-for-3, homered, scored three runs and drove in four for the Wildcats.
Eldorado 6, Valley 0: Brently Bridgeforth struck out 13 batters and yielded just three hits and added a three-run homer for the Sundevils, who also got a homer from April Keith.
Coronado 4, Basic 3: Brittany Loisel drove in the eventual winning run with a seventh-inning double and Nicole Meyer had two RBIs for the Cougars. Brittany Lorenzen went 2-for-4 for the Wolves.
