North Las Vegas council briefs

The North Las Vegas City Council reversed its planning staff's recommendation and will allow Consolidated Property Group to build North Fifth Marketplace at the southwest corner of Ann Road and North Fifth Street.
The property had been zoned for low density housing and was near the R.C. Farms, which raises pigs.
Law firm approved to represent city
The North Las Vegas City Council approved a contract with Lionel, Sawyer and Collins, a Las Vegas law firm, to represent the city in the nation's capital.
Under the agreement, the city will pay the firm $10,000 a month plus up to $5,000 per month for pre-authorized expenses to represent projects important to the city.
