UNLV men hold lead in conference tourney
Wednesday, May 1, 2002 | 9:45 a.m.
The UNLV men's golf team retained its lead at the Mountain West Conference Championship, firing a one-over par 289 for the second round at Sunriver, Ore. The Rebels lead both New Mexico and Air Force by two strokes and BYU by three.
UNLV's strong team play Tuesday was a result of a complete team effort as four of the team's lineup sit in the top 10.
Leading that group was senior Clark Corbett, who kept pace with the San Diego State's Mark Warman in the individual race. Both players carded even par, and Corbett still sits three strokes out of the lead.
Freshman J.C. Deacon turned in his second straight par round and sits tied for sixth, one shot behind Corbett.
