LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. might take on a partner and expand the size of a planned riverboat casino resort in Lake Charles, the company's chief officer says.
However, Pinnacle Chief Executive Daniel Lee said Tuesday that the California-based company would like to try to do the project without a partner first.
"We're looking at it," Lee said during a conference call with investment analysts. "It's certainly a possibility. To put it in perspective, I have yet to talk to any single partner about a joint venture."
Pinnacle is considering adding more rooms to its proposed 500-room hotel, Lee said.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board is expecting firm plans by August, so any changes will have to be made quickly, Lee said.
