Killing might be self -defense

Metro Police say early indications are that a 22-year-old man shot and killed his neighbor early today in self defense.
Apparently the slain man and his wife were arguing loudly in their apartment in the 3000 block of Casey Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road, about 3 a.m. The neighbors who share a common wall -- a man and his 22-year-old grandson -- went outside to investigate, said Lt. Tom Monahan of Metro's homicide unit.
The grandfather and grandson ran into the male neighbor outside. The conversations remained friendly until the two men started to walk to the apartment to check on the woman, Monahan said.
The pair say the man grabbed the grandfather and then moved toward the grandson, who warned the man to move away because he had a gun. The man apparently grabbed a small wooden stool and went at the grandson, who fired one shot killing the man, Monahan said.
