Letter: Migration may disguise an ulterior motive

In a Las Vegas Sun article on March 22, it was reported that the Mexican consul said that the talks between President Bush and Mexico President Vicente Fox could aid Nevada. But Nevadans should be aware of the following:
Prize-winning Mexican novelist Elena Poniatowska was quoted on WorldNetDaily.com last Aug. 15 as saying: "Mexico is recovering the territories yielded to the United States by means of migratory tactics." Poniatowska has taught at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc.
Last August, the well-respected French news magazine, Le Nouvel Observateur, had a news report whose title in English meant: "Reconquering of California by Latinos."
Also, in 1997 then-Mexican President Zedillo said in Chicago that the "Mexican nation extends beyond its territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important, a very important part of it."
What does Mexico really have in mind?
