Get exercise and education at same time
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes and walks free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center.
To make reservations or for information call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:
Ice Box Canyon: A 3-mile moderately strenuous rock scrambling will be Monday.
Grapevine Spring: Discover some petroglyphs panels while exploring on the 3-4-mile moderate hike Wednesday.
Exploring Oak Creek: Look for tracks in the sand on this 2-mile moderate hike Thursday.
Applications open for police department
The city of North Las Vegas will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer 8 a.m. Monday through 5 p.m. April 30.
Following submission of an application, testing for the position will be scheduled May 8 for the written exam, May 10 for the oral board exam, both by appointment only.

the Las Vegas Chapter of the Corvair Society of American will host a car show, picnic and swap meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Section D at Sunset Park.
