The UNLV baseball team dropped a 7-3 decision to UC-Irvine in a non-conference road game Tuesday night. With the loss, the Rebels fall to 11-16 on the season, while the Anteaters improve to 17-13.
Rebel starter David Seccombe picked up the loss and moved to 1-1 on the season. He pitched three innings, giving up five runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Four other pitchers threw effectively to finish the game, but the damage had already been done.
The Rebels return home for a three-game series with New Mexico that begins on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
