The Mandalay Bay hotel-casino's 1.8 million-square-foot convention center has booked a series of meetings and conventions in advance of the building's January opening.
The Mandalay Bay Convention Center, a part of the Mandalay Resort Group's flagship 3,700-room property, has booked a corporate meeting of Symbol Technologies, a Holtsville, N.Y.-based bar-code company, as its first event Jan. 2-9.
Other shows scheduled at the center include Aqua International, Jan. 7-9, Redken Symposium, Jan. 15-23, the Western Veterinary Conference, Feb. 14-22, International Solid Surfaces Fabricators 2003, Feb. 17-20 and the Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association, April 13-15.
"This list of signed customers demonstrates that meeting planners like what we have to offer and have confidence in our construction timeline," said Danielle Babilino, vice president of hotel sales, in a statement.
