Teachers get new furniture
Seventh grade student Benjamin Block helped win free furnishings for the teachers' lounge at Marvin M. Sedway Middle School.
Block's letter described how special his teacher, Kristin Krause, is to the class.
"Ms. Krause is definitely dedicated to her children, because she stays after school every day to help kids who are falling behind," Block wrote. "She has also helped me with some of the work I was missing."
Hundreds of letters were received from throughout the Clark County School District, but Block's letter prompted Walker Furniture to deliver a new leather sofa, love seat, maple cocktail and end tables, wall hangings, plants and other accessories.
For writing the winning letter, Block received a $250 gift certificate for use at Walker Furniture and a special pizza luncheon for the class.
