Board announces disciplinary actions

CARSON CITY -- The state Board of Medical Examiners announced Thursday it has revoked the physician assistant's license of James Harris of Las Vegas, who was found guilty of three counts of rendering aid while under the influence of controlled substances.

The board, which had issued an emergency suspension of Harris' license in November, revoked his permit and ordered him to pay $4,321 in costs incurred in the investigation.

The board said Harris was "unable to render professional services to a patient with reasonable skill and safety because of the use of alcohol, drugs, narcotics or another controlled substance." In other disciplinary actions:
