Outage affects Nevada deposits

Tuesday, March 19, 2002 | 11:22 a.m.

A computer problem at Bank of America last weekend temporarily prevented bank customers in Arizona, California and Nevada from receiving automated deposits.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based bank's computers stopped recording such deposits late Friday, said Bank of America spokesman Will Holford. The bank learned of the problem early Saturday and had corrected it by Sunday morning, he said.

The bank did not know how many transactions were affected, although Holford said problems were limited to customers from the three Western states.

Bank of America will refund any fees imposed upon its customers who were overdrawn because of unrecorded transactions. Affected customers should call 1-800-299-2265 or visit a local branch to address the issue, Holford said.
