Festivities set for downtown
Friday, March 15, 2002 | 9:21 a.m.
A free, three-day celebration of St. Patrick's Day at Fremont Street Experience begins tonight and ends Sunday, when a parade will highlight the weekend of festivities.
Four Irish bands -- Graicmore, Kinship, Seven Nations and Tiller's Folly -- will perform on two stages, on Fremont Street at First and Third streets, set up under the canopy of the downtown mall.
Tiller's Folly and Kinship will perform from 7-11 p.m. today. Graicmore and Kinship perform 6-8 p.m. Saturday, followed by Tiller's Folly and Seven Nations from 9-11 p.m. The bands will rotate performances Sunday from noon-11 p.m.
The Sons of Erin's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. Sunday. Paraders will march down Fourth Street between Coolidge and Ogden avenues.
Following the parade, the Sons of Erin will host a block party in the parking lot of the Sahara.
